Happy Thanksgiving Feast - Thank you awesome parents!

After our Rendezvous, we had an amazing feast.  The parents sent great food and so many came to help.  The kids got to choose which second grade classroom they wanted to eat in and which friends they wanted to eat with.  We were very thankful for all of the awesome help from our wonderful parents. The kids even taught Mr. Winward to play the Native American Stick Game they had learned.

Good Old Fashioned Rendezvous!

We have been learning about the lives of the Natives and the Pilgrims. We learned that when America was young they use to have Rendezvous where the Pilgrims and the Natives would meet together and sell and trade items.  They would also teach each other different crafts and games.  We were able to travel to different classrooms and do three different projects and we learned a Native American Stick Game. In Ms. Dingman's class the kids learned to weave a place mat.  In Ms. Johnson's room they learned about Kachina Dolls and how the Natives believed they have powers of nature. In our room they got to chose a Native name and they made a beaded medallion.  They got to make Pilgrim hats.  It was a super fun day of learning.

Turkey Disguise - Look and See but you can't find me. . .

Each of the kids was given a turkey that they took home and disguised so that it wouldn't get eaten for Thanksgiving. Haha!  Thank you parents for get help.  The turkeys were adorable.
