Christmas Around the World

We had such a great time learning about how other countries celebrate Christmas and the influence these countries had on the way we celebrate in America.  For example, we learned that lighting Christmas trees began in Germany and so did Gingerbread houses.  We learned about Le Befana from Italy and the Christmas spider and nesting dolls from Russia.  We loved breaking, or at least trying to break a pinata from Mexico.  Grandma Hatton (Ms. Melanie's mom) made each of the kids their very own Christmas Tree.

The kids each made a La Befana and a Russian Christmas Spider!

We loved Christmas Around the World!
