What is an Adjective?

We have been learning about the power of adjectives and how they make our writing more interesting.  The common core standard is the ability to understand the shades of meaning of words.    For a fun activity, each of the kids were given a sticker of a famous cartoon character.  They were not allowed to show the other kids who their sticker was.  They had to write sentences to help the other kids identify their character.  They had to use adjectives to help describe the clothing and attributes and interesting facts about their sticker.  They read their sentences to the other students to see if they could identify the character by their hints.  These kids are very clever.  It was a blast.
