Field Trip to the Zoo

Our first field trip got rained out so we got another chance to visit the Zoo. Great parent helpers, awesome animals, super fun field trip!

Learning Multiplication Facts

We were able to learn about how multiplication by building arrays.  We shook dice to find out how many rows and how many towers we needed to cut out.  We used chart paper to make the arrays.  For example, if they shook a 4 and a 6 they would cut out 4 rows across and 6 towers then write 4 x 6 equals 24 squares.  We covered a large piece of construction paper with different arrays.

We Made It To Our Reading Goal!

Each of the kids set a reading goal.  They read books and took A.R. tests.  If they reached their goal they got to choose a book they get to keep.  Way to go kids!

Before our program we had a blast cleaning off our desks with shaving cream.  We drew all the different styles of art we had learned.  We have great talent, even in shaving cream!
