Christmas Day Party Fun!

On our Christmas Day, the last day of school in 2016, we went to a sing-a-long in the morning.  It was a blast!  Then we went on a trip around the world to see how people celebrate Christmas in other countries. I gave each of the kids a Santa hat for part of their gift.  They looked adorable.  I love this class so much.   Last, each of the kids were able to pass out the presents they brought for everybody.  It was so fun to watch how excited they were to share with all of their friends.  Have a Merry Christmas everyone.  I'll see you in 2017.

Best Big Buddies Ever!

Our fifth grade big buddies from Mrs. Levitt's class helped us make a Christmas Tree ornament that looks like a little hat.  They were darling and the second graders were able to make them by themselves.  Thank you Mrs. Levitt and your wonderful students.  You are all great!

Naughty Little Elves!

With our Big Buddies, we made adorable little elves.  They were so cute. We hung them from the ceiling so they could watch us work.  At night, it seems that they came alive and were pretty naughty. Each morning our classroom was a mess.  It was actually pretty funny to see the kids trying to find their own Elf each morning.  One morning would found  our room had been changed to a party place. The desks were in a circle and the elves were dancing.  Crazy, naughty elves made by funny, silly kids.  So fun!

What does congruence mean?

We read a book called Big Bushy Mustache.  It is about a little boy who looked a lot like his mother but he wanted to look like his dad so his dad   His dad helped him by making him a mustache.  We learned that mustaches need a line-of-symmetry and is congruent on both sides.  Miss Melanie's husband, Mr. Kevin, came to our classroom to help us make congruent mustaches.  We looked super cool with help from Mr. Mustache!  Also, one of our vocabulary words was 'disguise'.  The kids had a blast making disguises.
