Amazing Artists and their Art!

One of the final units we study in Second Grade is different kinds of art and the artists.  Our common core goal is to be able to compare and contrast different styles of art and have an opinion of the aesthetic value in each piece different artists created.  We then write a paper explaining the history and lifestyles of two chosen artists then compare their styles and their art.  To better be able to understand this assignment, we actually produced different art projects so the kids could more easily compare and contrast.  Their writing was amazing.  They did a great job explaining how different artists lives effected their art.  I was honestly amazed at how well the kids did on this project!  Good job kids!

Fantastic Fun Field Trip!

We loaded the bus and headed to the Fort Hall Replica in Upper Ross Park.  We had a great tour of the fort and even got to practice making a horseshoe just like the old fashioned blacksmiths did.  Next, we got back on the bus and rode down to the Zoo.  We had a great time seeing all of the animals.  Then, we went to the Bannock County Historical Museum.  We learned a ton of interesting information there.  We even visited the mini Pocatello City.  Last, we ate lunch at the playground in lower Ross Park.  It was a glorious day.  Thanks parents for your great support!
