Valentine's Fun

First, we designed and created Love Bugs with our 5th Grade Reading Buddies, which was so much fun.  After that, we cut out a ton of red hearts, we snuck down the hall and heart-attacked the Principal's office and the secretaries office.  Then, we sneaked to the Library and heart-attacked the Librarian's area. We were so quiet and sneaky.  It was a blast.
Next, we had an amazing Valentine's Party.  We had great parent support, which was wonderful.
Last, we opened our Valentine's Cards from each other.  It was a great, yummy, fun day.  Thank you awesome parents!  We also wrote about our adventures! Good times.

Digging for Dinosaur Bones!

We read two books about dinosaurs, one was fiction called Big Grunt and Little Egg.  The other one was non-fiction called Mighty Dinosaurs.  It was fun to compare facts and research information about life millions of years ago.  One of the activities we learned about was how difficult it is for Paleontologists to dig out dinosaur bones from rock solid dirt.  Each child was given special tools (toothpicks) and a chunk of petrified ground (a cookie).  They had to dig out the bones (chocolate  chips) without damaging them or touching them because human skin will make bones disintegrate.  They were very intense in making their discoveries and super careful not to do any damage.  It was fun to watch!  They are great little Paleontologists!
