We Do Love Green Eggs and Ham!

Dr. Seuss Day was a blast.  We worked together to put Dr. Seuss's stories in order, beginning, middle and end.   We learned a lot about rhyming real words and made-up words.  We wrote a biography about Theodore Geisel.  We predicted whether we would like Green Eggs and Ham.  We cooked them right in our classroom.  They were a delicious hit.

Friday, we had Books and Bagels.  Parents came to school and read with their kids for 30 minutes and enjoyed a bagel and some juice.  We were thrilled that our class had the most parents, grandparents and siblings show up.  Thank you folks!  No question why your kids are so great!

Loving the Olympics!

We enjoyed learning about the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.  We also learned that the Olympics began in Olympia, Greece.  Each of the kids designed and made their own flag.  We were very impressed with America's 25 medals.  The fifth graders graphed the medals won by all of the countries. It looked amazing.
